Low sun on the bramble

by Field Notes |19-Aug-2026, 08:10 (CEST) |Updated 26-Aug-2026, 14:50

Most of the hedge was still green, but the youngest bramble leaves had turned red at the edges. In flat light they disappeared into the undergrowth. A few minutes of low sun brought them forward.

There was no broad autumn colour yet. The change was scattered: one leaf beside the path, another above the ditch, then several together where the ground opened to the east.
