Backup

Backup packages tinymash export data as downloadable ZIP archives. Open it from Backup in the account navigation.

Every signed-in user can download an author bundle containing their profile, content, drafts, media, and supported plugin data. Superadmins can also download a full site backup.

ZIP downloads use PHP streaming by default. System > Plugins > Backup can select Nginx X-Accel-Redirect or Apache X-Sendfile when the corresponding protected server delivery is configured.

Site restore is a separate superadmin action. tinymash inspects the archive first and reports its identity, contents, and conflicts. Applying it requires explicit confirmation. A successful restore replaces core site state and signs out the current session because accounts and passwords may have changed.

Active plugins can add their data to a backup. Site backups also include Comments and Subscriptions data while either plugin is inactive. An author's download includes comments on their posts and pages, but no subscriber lists or shared mail records. If an active plugin fails to export its data, Backup stops without offering an incomplete archive.

If a restore fails, tinymash puts site settings, users, content, drafts, and media back as they were. Plugins handle their own data, so review the plugin restore results separately.

A restored mail queue may contain old pending messages. Keep delivery paused and review the queue before sending resumes.

Backup does not schedule recurring archives, encrypt downloads, or send them offsite. Download important archives to protected storage outside the installation and manage their retention there.
