Panel Magazine
Panel Magazine is intended for magazine-style and personal publishing with persistent identity, strong navigation, and image-led post lists.
Layout
On wide screens, a fixed identity panel contains the site or author identity and primary navigation. It can sit on the left or right. An optional opposite sidebar can carry the page list and public plugin fragments.
On smaller screens, the fixed-panel layout becomes a compact header and Browse panel. The header can remain sticky or scroll with the content.
A configured site or author banner becomes the visual masthead. Featured images and background images keep their own roles and are never substituted for a missing banner.
Post lists
Magazine mode uses a lead story, two secondary stories where available, and a continuing stream. A sticky post becomes the lead; otherwise the newest current post is used. Listing images use bounded crops to keep the composition stable.
Stream mode uses a simpler chronological list. The list mode and content width can be overridden for an author space.
Navigation and sidebars
The page list can appear in the identity panel or opposite sidebar on wide screens. A configured primary menu remains separate from the generated page list. The opposite sidebar can be disabled when the publication needs a wider, quieter content area.
The compact mobile Browse panel carries the applicable menu, page navigation, and sidebar fragments.
Other settings
Panel Magazine also provides:
- Serif or Sans-serif publication titles; Serif is the default
- blogroll or static-page site home
- Search, tags, and local syntax highlighting
- page-tree style, breadcrumbs, child-page lists, and fallback navigation depth
- post-summary fallback and generated-summary length
- footer menu, banners, backgrounds, and Custom CSS
The publication-title setting affects identity and story titles only. Body text, navigation, metadata, controls, and plugin output remain sans-serif.
