Downloads
Downloads organizes managed folders and routed file delivery. Root folders appear below /downloads; author folders appear below /<author>/downloads.
Open Downloads in the admin navigation. Create a folder, add optional introductory Markdown, then upload files. Folders can contain child folders. Authors manage folders in their own space; superadmins can manage root and author folders.
Only enabled folders and files are public. Stored filenames and paths are not exposed directly. tinymash checks the public record before sending a file and serves downloads as attachments.
A folder can be embedded in a post or page with a Downloads shortcode. The embedded folder becomes the browsing root, so visitors cannot use its parent link to move above the selected area.
Static exports do not copy managed Downloads files. Exported references are rewritten to the corresponding live-site URLs.
Use Media for images and files that belong inside an entry. Use Downloads for a browsable file collection with its own descriptions, dates, and folder structure.
