Photos

Photos adds a Photos tab to Composer. It separates two choices: whether a post should use photo-post presentation and whether it should publish a gallery.

Select and arrange images

Select gallery images from the media library. With at least two selected images, use Sort selected images to order them by original filename, upload time, or capture date (if retained). Choose ascending or descending order. Images without the chosen date stay at the end. Sorting changes the unsaved order; move controls remain available. Save the post to keep the order.

The featured image serves as the gallery cover. There is no separate cover setting. Public galleries use local CSS and a local lightbox script.

Turn body images into a gallery

Uploading or pasting images into the post body does not add them to the gallery. Composer can preview which managed images on lines of their own can be moved into a gallery without uploading them again. Review any skipped images, apply the conversion, enable Gallery, and save the post. Links around images, HTML figures, and uncertain references stay in the body for manual review.

Photos applies to posts, not pages. A post may consist only of a selected gallery; other posts still need body content. Detaching an image from a gallery does not delete its media file.

Save and recover uploads

Composer shows how many images were uploaded in the current session, selected, and saved. Wait for an upload batch to finish before saving. If a save reports fewer gallery images than selected, keep the editor open and save again. Earlier uploads remain available under Recent uploads or Library in the image picker.

Use images from the main site

A superadmin editing an author space can choose Root media for inline images or a Photos gallery. Adding a Root image to a gallery requires Keep linked and add. A linked image can be copied into the author space or replaced in its gallery position. Save the post to keep the change. Featured and social images remain limited to the current space.

The gallery does not create image collections from tags or folders, and ordinary inline images do not become lightbox items automatically.

Static exports omit Photos gallery output and plugin assets.
