Blocks
Blocks is intended for image-led blogs, collections, and publications where the post listing matters as much as the reading view.
Listing layout
Sticky and featured posts can occupy a separate first row. The remaining posts appear in a responsive grid, newest first. A featured row contains only qualifying posts; ordinary posts are not pulled in to fill unused positions.
Each listing block uses a featured-image area or a colored fallback cover. Small thumbnails are not visibly enlarged to fill a larger source size, and fallback covers become more compact on narrow screens.
Tags are omitted from listing blocks to keep the grid quiet. They can still appear on full entries when tag display is enabled.
Grid settings
Posts per row sets the maximum ordinary-post columns from 1 through 10. Automatic uses three. The layout still collapses at narrower widths.
Featured posts sets the maximum first-row items from 1 through 10, or disables that row. A single qualifying post remains one featured block rather than stretching into an accidental full-width hero.
Fallback cover color selects the palette used when a post has no featured image. Grid density, featured-row size, fallback color, and content width can be overridden for an author space.
Entries and shared settings
Full posts and pages use a calmer, conventional layout. Featured images are not automatically repeated above the entry body.
Blocks also provides the shared menu, static-home, content-width, Search, tags, syntax-highlighting, page-tree, breadcrumb, child-page, post-summary, banner, background, sidebar, and footer controls. Publication titles can use Sans-serif or Serif without changing body or interface text.
Reserve featured and sticky states for posts that need emphasis. A large first row with many marked posts weakens the distinction between featured and ordinary content.
